Givingfor. One was born from the life changing experience that was my two year journey through the ranks of British Parasnowsport (formerly the British Disabled Ski Team)
Seeing firsthand how much these inspirational and incredibly hard working athletes continued existence as athletes relies on funding* I decided to try and find a way to make this arduous, yet vital, fundraising process easier for all involved.
(*beyond that of “the bank of mum and dad”)
- People want to give.
- Causes need money.
- The government incentivises this through Gift Aid.
…..how hard can this be folks? (though it’s taken me 3 years so read into that what you will!)
Having a little first hand and decades of third hand experience of the pursuit of funding I can completely empathise with the frustration this represents to an athlete.
Coupling this with almost 20 years in financial fundraising, I feel well equipped to help simplify this process.
Finding a way for individuals to directly and efficiently give to an athlete of their choice, being able to follow their progress and knowing that every donation has had some direct impact on their achievement of their goals is our main aim here at Givingfor. One
Knowing that your cause will receive 110% of your donation is, we believe, the cherry on the cake!
Our core values are simple but fundamental to how we go about every interaction:
…..not necessarily to whack on a pair of skis (or one!) and throw themselves down a mountain (for some, literally blindly) but to just use that inspiration to try one more time to do that one more thing for themselves – to gain a little more FREEDOM through independence.
From a block of race wax to a board or pair of skis, you decide what you can afford to contribute and have the knowledge that you are Givingfor. One specified individual realise their dream.
Thanks for your time & please – help me help!
